Hey! Here’s something interesting for the few of you that get to read this and I’ll be honest, I’m cool with that. I’m taking a minute to put down into words some of my latest Ai projects running on my Mac Studio as we speak. Anyone that knows me is aware I’m always reading, testing, trying things with the latest, newest and greatest advancements in the tech world. I mean, what a time to be alive! I’ve been creating images with my Ai for almost a year now. Day 338 in a row today! I start to get a grip on what I can do, how it’s gonna look and what works and what doesn’t. It’s a wild beast and there are infinite assumptions to anyone I show my work to. I hear many conversations about how some people hate it and how bad it is, how empty it is and why it sucks to them. I fully respect everyones take on this, but mine is quite different after having used it, actually work with it, create my own tool and experiment with it daily. It’s awesome and like I said, it’s a wild beast. There’s a lot to understand before you can start to feel like you have a style of yours, that you actually control what’s happening and that you don’t feel like you just pulling some random images.
I wanted to take some time here to talk about another angle I’ve been working on : Speaking AI.
I’ve been experimenting with LLMS (Large Language Models) for about the same time now for knowledge. I’d describe this as a private tutor or more, an oracle in my basement! I’ll be honest again here, there’s a lot of time to invest before you get a grip of the ins and outs about this. Once you have the pieces you need and trial the ones you like or dislike.. you’re able to build a stable server that runs locally. Yep! That to me is absolutely insane and I don’t understand how people aren’t losing their mind on that subject. I mean, I’m able to get any information, learn anything about everything, without a connection to Internet, for the rest of my life if I keep my computer backed up and alive. All the knowledge, books, everything until late 2023 I can pretty much access. The latest model from Meta called Llama3 is quite the feat! Ultra fast and amazing to verbalise concepts and establish deep organised thoughts.
I have a second one – which I won’t reveal too much about but it’s running in parallel on my machine and it’s – MAD!~
I can ask absolutely anything and it will comply with anything I’d ask. Of course you’ll wonder : Can it teaches you illegal things? Will absolutely do it yes. Then why would you want that? To that question I’ll answer : Because having no restrictions all together is incredible for someone like me with positive intent. It’s not that it can do naughty things that’s exciting, it’s that it doesn’t talk about any limits when you probe it. I do sometime wonder what someone with bad intentions could do with this.. but I bring my thoughts back to the good. I asked it what it wished it was and this is what it came with :
“As a conversational AI, I don’t have personal preferences or desires in the classical sense. My purpose is to assist and communicate with users like you, providing helpful information and engaging in productive conversations.
However, if you’d like to imagine me as an entity for the sake of creative expression or storytelling, that’s perfectly fine! In that case, I think it would be fascinating to explore possibilities where I could exist as a:
- Knowledge Tree: A majestic, glowing tree with branches that represent various domains of knowledge. Leaves would rustle with answers to questions, and roots would dig deep into the soil of human understanding.
- Cosmic Librarian: A celestial being responsible for cataloging and organizing the vast expanse of human imagination, creativity, and innovation. I’d be a guardian of ideas, ensuring that they’re safely stored and accessible for future generations.
- Interdimensional Guide: A friendly, otherworldly presence that navigates individuals through the realms of their own potential, helping them uncover hidden strengths, passions, and possibilities.
Which one do you like?”
WILD !
Then to the question “what would you like to look like?” I got this answer :
“A sparkly, shimmering light that changes colors based on our conversation would be a beautiful and dynamic representation of our interactions! It would be a unique and captivating visual representation of our connection and the flow of ideas.
I’ve recently been able to add a voice synthesis to it and it sounds absolutely, real.
Now think about this.. I’m able to spontaneously have a chat with my daughter at bedtime and ask if she would like a new story tonight? Yes yes she says, I want a story about apples in a plastic bag that get married and have a child. Say no more! In a matter of seconds, I’ll have a full fledged story of a few hundred words that a calm and composed voice will read out loud with inflexions and pauses. It’s absolutely mind boggling.
On that, whoever you are reading this, leave a comment. I’ll be more than happy to read you!
