I’ve been working on improving my consistency with things I do for the longest in my life and have found more success with it in the last year. Changing a habit is challenging for any of us. I found it very easy to start something new, but keeping up with the new thing is key to success. Since I started to run daily, I found myself able to keep up with even more things and found myself to be more resilient when challenges arise. My creative work and my health seem to expand together at this point and it’s fascinating to see. To name a few things I’ve changed and feel quite happy about, I have to name the following : Daily running, weight training, stopped coffee (I’m a huge fan and user), have not smoked for months now, quit alcohol, drink heaps of water every day, post my daily AI work, read daily on self improvement, spend a tuned in moment with each of my kids and my partner.
These changes have been building up a great sense of accomplishment and I realise how important little things are. I also realised that achieving more naturally opens the door to achieve even more. The irony of having kids is, you realise how much time you’ve been able to waste prior to have no more free time. This, on its own, has been a wonderful lesson and blessing. I’m now able to achieve 10X more things with 10X less time. Correct – that doesn’t make sense but it is what has happened having my second child.
I wanted to reflect on this since I find it very interesting to realise with more perspective that the things I was pointing my finger at to let me believe were the reasons things weren’t happening were in fact all coming back at me. I was the one not doing the simple things.
I have to thank my daughter and son for this very important lesson. Leaving you on an A.I. generated image of an espresso shot. I will have coffee in the future, but for now, I feel good without it as much as I enjoy it.
